I’m a seasoned Physical Therapist turned holistic aging specialist, health and wellness consultant and Certified Senior Advisor®, with extensive experience in hospital and home health settings. I specialize in helping individuals over 60 navigate Medicare and prepare for aging intentionally with grace and vitality.
I love working with aging adults and enjoy helping them stay healthy as well as prepare for confident and intentional aging. Throughout my career, I've encountered a common frustration: the lack of education and unbiased resources for individuals approaching or at Medicare age regarding their health coverage and what to expect as they age. Countless patients, including my own mother, have asked why certain services or medications aren't covered by their insurance. Despite my healthcare background, navigating Medicare's complexities when choosing her plan was challenging; and we later discovered significant gaps in coverage that were not disclosed by various organizations we consulted.
This experience drove me to delve deeper into the world of Medicare, realizing how confusing it can be for those without a healthcare background. My goal is to help older adults understand Medicare and prepare for difficult conversations about safe and confident aging. I've seen firsthand the consequences of not having legally binding forms like a POLST or Advanced Directive in place, as verbal wishes alone may not be honored in hospital settings. I aim to be a transparent resource, guiding aging adults through Medicare and the aging process with honesty and confidence.
