I serve as the Pastoral Minister and Director of the Resource Center on Aging at Harpeth Hills Church of Christ in Brentwood, TN. The Resource Center’s goal is to serve, educate, encourage and provide collaborative, faith-based services that meet the health and wellness needs of the whole person. Facets of the center, which also utilizes the services of a social worker, include direct family support, respite care, support groups, and two educational series: “Family Conversations,” a series of discussions every family needs to have dealing with caregiving, generational planning, and end-of-life issues, and Wellness 66, a collaborative series hosted with TriStar Centennial Parthenon Pavilion. I am a member of the planning committee for Wellness 66 and IOAM (Intentional Older Adult Ministries).
Before joining the Harpeth Hills staff, I enjoyed thirty-nine years in education at Ezell-Harding Christian School and Lipscomb Academy, where I served as both a classroom teacher and school president and won numerous teaching awards, coached a nationally ranked academic team, and taught honors and A. P. classes in English and U.S. History. I hold advanced degrees in both Educational Leadership and English, including a doctoral degree in English from Middle Tennessee State University.
