Philip Ellis

Philip is the founder of Brittison Financial Group, Inc., and a fiduciary investment advisor who has provided retirement planning solutions to the Michiana area since 2003. He sits down with clients and listens to their priorities and concerns in order to better understand their unique situations and financial strengths and weaknesses. This collaborative approach results in holistic retirement strategies that make use of Social Security and tax planning, as well as income sources. Phil has achieved Certified Senior Advisor and National Social Security Advisor designations and has completed several courses, including the Financial ABC’s of Retirement Planning, Six Pillars of Income Planning and Social Security Maximizer Instructor Training. He is passionate about empowering others and uses this passion to help clients develop custom financial plans that meet their long-term goals. Teaching adult classes at local colleges gives Phil a chance to educate the community on the importance of making informed decisions based on facts. Some of these class topics include Social Security optimization, reducing or eliminating taxes, retiring during a recession and planning conservatively for retirement. Through the years, his Social Security and tax planning strategies have helped families save hundreds of thousands of dollars in retirement. Phil and his wife, Catie, are the proud parents of two daughters. They live in Saint Joseph, Michigan, where they are dedicated to serving their community through their local church by helping to raise funds for charities and missions. They also participate in a jail ministry in Benton Harbor that encourages men to pursue positive directions in life. Phil loves to spend time on his motorcycle or mountain bike, golfing with friends, or mountain climbing with his daughter.
