Jan Peterson

I am a Denver native of 50+ years and have lived and worked in Denver other than earning my Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology at Utah State University in Logan, Utah - a beautiful and highly successful campus! I have a 33 year old son who is my pride and joy, and we have a very close relationship.

Prior to my journey in the senior living space, I spent over 20 years in the hotel industry - working my way up from Front Desk Clerk to Reservation Manager, Catering Director, Food and Beverage Supervisor and then Food and Beverage Director as well as a top Sales Rep for US Foods Denver Division. The highlight of my hospitality career was the blessing and honor to be the Food & Beverage/Service Director and Catering Director at Cherry Hills Country Club in Denver, and I held an integral part of the orchestration and service/operation of the 2005 US Women's Open in collaboration and under the direction of the Championship Director and our Club Manager.

When my precious mother's health began to decline, I was grateful for the opportunity to orchestrate her care to keep her in her own home - with the support of incredible employers, I was able to take my mom to doctor's appointments, visit her every night for dinner and to help with the daily house chores, and to orchestrate home care and related services as I experienced the typical "caregiver burnout." I moved my mom into an assisted living community and ultimately she wanted to be under hospice care at home.

I was blessed with the honor to care for her in my home until the end of her life, and I resigned from my job as I knew that time was short. I embraced the importance of this time with her, serving as her family advocate and "voice" when she needed one. One day, she asked me to "pay it forward" in her honor, and I designed a professional path to touch the lives of seniors and to ensure they had a "voice" after she had gone to be with the Lord. I discovered a driving passion to draw upon my gifts of service and hospitality, organizational skills and compassion to support our aging population.

Over the past 8+ years, my journey led me to experience as a Director of Community Relations & Executive Director of an assisted living/memory care community, Strategic Account Executive with InnovAge Pace working with C-suite developers for market penetration and brand exposure of services for their residents at our PACE Centers, and also as a Sales Manager at a brand new, 55+ Active Adult community (which was a brand new development of 207 luxury apartments, and the pre-leasing phase and opening opening were during the pandemic - what a whirlwind and fantastic experience!) I launched my new business, Blossoms Senior Placement and Consulting, in January 2023 after many years of preparation.

My CSA has been in place since 2014 and I am a proud member of CoPRA - Colorado Placement and Referral Alliance to present the high ethical and industry standards.

With the full rainbow of personal and professional experience over the past 14 years, I am grateful for the opportunity to provide support for anyone that I touch!
