Diana Cabassi

Diana M. Cabassi left a 35-year career in corporate human resources to care for her aging mother and start a new business helping senior citizens remain independent by matching them with able-bodied seniors willing to help them. Today, she provides seniors in Southwest Broward County a way to supplement their incomes and give back to their community by providing non-medical assistance to seniors who need help with everyday tasks to continue living in their own homes.

Like many Seniors Helping Seniors franchise owners, Diana recognized the need to provide seniors with non-medical assistance after her mother was diagnosed with dementia. “Knowing that this is a progressive disease, I decided that no amount of money or prestigious job was worth not being present for the rest of my mother’s life,” Diana said. “Although my work in corporate America was challenging, I was not emotionally fulfilled. Running a Seniors Helping Seniors franchise gives me personal satisfaction, because it provides the most vulnerable, overlooked population with care and dignity during their last years.”
