My Story:
My Dad first started showing signs of Alzheimer’s in 2012 at the young age of 66. When he was diagnosed, I began researching everything I could about the disease so that my family and I could be as prepared as possible. At the time, there was very little information about Alzheimer’s, which left me very confused and scared for him.
When it became too dangerous for him to continue to live at home, we started the daunting task of looking for memory care facilities. During that time, we had no idea what to expect or what questions to ask. Maneuvering through all of the changes of his disease while managing a full-time job and 2 busy kids was not easy. We were met with the feelings of hopelessness and frustration as we realized we were navigating this difficult situation without guidance.
The experience of finding placement for my dad, inspired me to make a difference for people like us. I want people to know that their loved ones come first, and I will do everything to protect their dignity.
After 25 years as a Director of Merchandising, I went back to school to become a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA)® so that I could support families and their loved ones by asking the hard questions, and making sure they don’t get lost in the process. Knowing what is important to them and you are huge factors in deciding what should happen in these life transitions.
As your Certified Senior Advisor (CSA)®, I too have navigated this road, and I'm here to walk alongside you, guide you through the chapters ahead, and make sure your loved one is treated with compassion and able to age with grace.
