Dave’s background has been in horticulture and snow removal. He spent 15 years total with Brightview Landscapes and Tovar Snow Professionals. However, the thought of being a business owner hadn’t entered his mind until he was introduced to Assisted Living Locators. In the late summer/early fall of 2017, Dave’s Father in Law’s health was declining. The symptoms of Lewy Body Dementia worsened and the family had to make the painful decision that he could no longer be cared for in his home. With no guidance and naïve about senior resources, the family began the search for a memory care community. The first community that was visited became his Father-in-Law’s new home. But it was not for long. After three months, it was obvious the community was not a good fit. Overwhelmed and stressed the family started the search for a new community. This experience of moving a loved one proved to be emotionally taxing on every level and moving twice was especially difficult. In the spring of 2018 Dave was introduced to Assisted Living Locators. Their model was exactly what his family needed only 6 months earlier. In June of 2018, Dave opened the first Assisted Living Locators in Indiana as a resource for central Indiana families. Assisted Living Locators of North Indy is a no-cost service for seniors and families making the transition to independent, assisted living, and memory care. Think of Dave as a senior living realtor. He stays with you through every step of the process. From understanding the needs from location, apartment size, and cost to care needs and long-term goals. Dave will accompany the families on the tour and ensure you understand care levels and costs. He will help you navigate your options so families and seniors can make an educated and informed decision. He is a CSA, Certified Senior Advisor and is active as a Sub Committee Chair Member with the Alzheimer’s Association of Central Indiana. Dave is also a Dementia Friends Indiana Champion. Dave lives in the Broad Ripple area of Indianapolis with his wife Carolyn and their dog, Butters. For several years he has been active on the Beautification Committee for the Broad Ripple Village Association. When not working Dave likes to play guitar (poorly) and add to his growing music collection.
