Cathy was professionally introduced to the older adult realm in the early 2000's while serving as the lead consultant on two, separate capital campaigns: nursing home expansion in Iowa and a memory support community in Nebraska.
She enjoyed and appreciated the opportunities so much, she accepted a public relations position with a senior care management team in 2003, a position that eventually included marketing, advertising, fundraising, and development.
Realizing her passion for education, she created, produced, and hosted a weekly, one-hour radio program in 2009 called "The Art of Aging". It wasn't long before she founded a company bearing the same name.
To this day, education remains the key component. Whether presenting on her own or collaborating with colleagues through the AOA speakers bureau, Cathy is bound and determined to get people to accept the aging process and proactively plan for it.
In addition to her opportunities with The Art of Aging, Inc., Cathy is the producer and host of a weekly, 30-minute, statewide public television program addressing topics relevant to Nebraskans. She also spends time behind the piano; teaching lessons and accompanying school choirs.
Cathy graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Broadcast Journalism degree in 1987. She minored in music, communication, and sociology.
