Older adults can maintain control over their living arrangements as they age by thoughtfully designing their homes. Choosing between modifying their current home or moving is a significant personal decision, but thoughtful design can help them make this decision and maintain control during aging in place.
As a realtor and certified aging-in-place specialist, I have helped many older adults modify their homes or move to more accessible housing. I understand the challenges and opportunities involved in this process, and I am passionate about helping older adults live safely and independently in their homes for as long as possible.
If you are considering modifying your home or moving to a more accessible place, I encourage you to contact me. I would be happy to help you assess your needs and develop a plan that is right for you.
H, I am Amy. I learned about Universal Design over 20 years ago while modifying our home to accommodate my grandmother. I have been a student ever since. Beginning with my real estate license and then through the National Home Builders Association. becoming a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist as well as a member of the NAHB’s 55+ Housing Industry Council, I help produce houses that will be in high demand now and through the next decade—educating, communicating, and collaborating with other professionals in the 55+ market making valuable business connections as well as discussing industry trends and issues. As a realtor, if your house is not easily modifiable, then I source one that is. I am taking it behind the scenes in the industry and sharing my tips and tricks for helping you and those you love to live independently longer and safely.
